Sven obtained his PhD in 2010 from UPV Valencia in functional analysis. After several years as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Wuppertal (Germany), Novosibirsk (Russia), Poznań (Poland), Astana (Kazakstan) and Paris (France), he was appointed a Senior Lecturer at Teesside University in the UK in 2018. In 2020, Sven relocated to Germany, where he is now a Research Fellow at the University of Hamburg, and since 2023 also PI of the DFG project «Higher homological methods in Karoubian categories».
