Matteo Cingolani is an electronic engineer from Italy, researcher at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Bologna. His PhD research aims at investigating wave propagation in acoustic metamaterials and their applications in the audio and biomedical fields. The project is in partnership with RCF, an Italian company of loudspeakers and audio devices.
He’s currently doing a short scientific mission at IUMPA from January to June 2023 for with Professor Vicente Romero Garcia. The goal is twofold. On the one hand, develop mathematical models to analyze the Physical behavior of the system. To do that we are using matrix algebra and Markov processes to study how the building blocks of the system are working together. O the other hand, we will couple these analytical methods with numerical optimization techniques to find the geometries that produce the target design properties.
